Introduction:

The pandemic of Covid-19 has resulted in more than 106 million cases, of whom more than 2320 thousand people died during 2020 and February 8, 2021. However, last month, the pandemic decreased in Europe, America, and Africa, with a gradual slowing down or flat in other regions. In China, Zhe-Jiang Province reported to have one asymptomatic infection immigrated from other provinces. In addition, there are nine high-risk areas and 34 moderate-risk areas in five other provinces and cities.

On February 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that hospitals in the administrative districts of Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Taoyuan City would begin to follow the current hospital visitation directives again starting on February 10 as related assessments, including retrospective investigation and expanded home isolation for those with a related contact history, suggested a reduced risk of continued transmission and infection from the cluster infection in Taoyuan General Hospital. Based on the general human right and the health-for-all idea, Taiwan has applied for participation in the WHA for the purpose of contribution of medical professional and experience sharing.

Our experience of successfully combating Covid-19 pandemic and providing foreign aid with prevention materials spreads the world. GTMA is thinking how Taiwanese medical professionals, during the post-Covid-19 era, can collaborate with the global community to face the emerging challenge to overcome all difficulties, among which it is the focus of attention at home and abroad to return to the world health arena. Hereby, GTMA organizes this online forum, with an international prospective from the viewpoint of a NGO, in order to make a more in-depth discussion for Taiwan to make a constructive cooperation with the WHO during the post-Covid-19 era.

全球新冠(Covid-19)疫情，自2020年截至2021年2月8日累計193國/地區逾1億6百萬確診病例，其中超過232萬例死亡。2021年最近1個月，歐、美、非各洲疫情均呈下降趨勢，其他區亦趨緩或持平。中國大陸浙江省2月7日新增1例自外省輸入之無症狀感染者，另5省市9個高風險及34個中風險區。我國則於擴大回溯醫院相關接觸者居家隔離，及部桃清零計畫等措施後，評估該院及社區感染風險降低，因此，北北桃地區所轄醫院自2021年2月10日起，回歸現行陪探病機制(疾管署2021年2月9日發布)。

台灣申請參與WHA，是基於普世人權與均健價值，著重貢獻醫療專業與經驗分享。如今我國抗疫成功的經驗，以及防疫物質援外的義行，已經傳播世界。全球台灣醫衛總會(GTMA)思考:新冠疫情後期，台灣醫界如何與全球合作，如何面對新挑戰，突破萬難，參與WHO及重回世界衛生舞台，更是國內外各界所矚目的焦點。因此，GTMA籌辦本次線上會議，期以NGO展望國際防疫潮流，對台灣在新冠疫情後期如何與WHO做建設性的合作，作更深入的論述。
